Edinburgh Local Development Plan: Main Issues Report

Edinburgh Council is preparing a local development plan for Edinburgh and wants your help.

The Edinburgh Local Development Plan will set out policies and proposals to guide development and land use.  When adopted it will replace two existing local plans.

The main opportunity for you to get involved in the plan is in response to the Main Issues Report.  This sets out options for new proposals and changes to some policies.  It asks for your views on 20 questions.

The Main Issues Report and the supporting Monitoring Statement and Environmental Report can be viewed at Council libraries and at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/localdevelopmentplan.  Paper copies of the Monitoring Statement and Environmental Report can be purchased from Waverley Court.

Staffed exhibitions are being held around the city and there will be workshops to discuss some specific issues.  See the City of Edinburgh Council website for more details.

You can submit representations on the Main Issues Report:

  • by online questionnaire
  • by post to LDP team, Waverley Court (G.1), 4 East Market Street, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG
  • or by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Comments should be submitted by Friday 27 January 2012.  If you have any queries please call 0131 469 3411 / 3590/
